Well, with the Adidas Battle on the Plains tourney in Lincoln, NE behind us, the girls have completed their summer basketball seasons. Kionna and the IBCA Select Red team walked away as runner-up, losing to the NE Bison Cornhusker Shooting Stars by 4 (we beat them by 20 at the SD tourney earlier this summer). The girls went 28-5 for the season - with their biggest loss going to the Alabama Roadrunners in Chicago by 11. The other losses were to the North Tartan Larson team (in MN) by 1, to the Wichita Bearcats by 3, and to the Texas Blazers by 3 (both in Oregon).
Shaya was asked to play with the 9th grade AIA team at this tourney - and the girls played in the High School open division. It was tough - both the competition and the playing with a team that she is only somewhat familiar with. They were 2-3 for the tournament.
Kionna is now at the Creighton Team Camp with her high school team until Sunday, and then begins volleyball camps and practices.
We will look forward to November to the start of Kionna's HS Bball season, and Shaya's eighth grade season (also starting in November - I believe). The eighth grade team does travel a bit to play, so that will be fun (with hopefully few or no conflicts with the varsity schedule...)
Both girls will be playing volleyball this fall. I will visit the blog to update on occasion.
