The girls pulled out an outstanding victory last night with a win over Ankeny in the first round of the state tournament. How huge is that??? It was so exciting, and really did come down to Kionna shooting freethrows with a little over a minute left! She was 4 for 4 from the line, and Taylor added another at the end, so we were able to beat Ankeny 45-40. WOW - what a game!
Kionna had 12 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 5 blocks. Trisha had 10 points and 5 assists, and Cheyenne had 9 points - 3 three-pointers!
It was so great to watch the girls get the victory. We face Linn-Mar (#1 team in the state - undefeated this season) on Friday at 1:30. Nothing to lose!
