Valley and Lincoln Wins

On Friday night, the girls battled Valley at Valley. Kionna and Trisha were both shut down pretty effectively by Valley's defense. Cheyenne Pritchard and Ellen Hansen came out very strong for Ames offensively to make up for this. On the other end, Kionna played some outstanding defense. She did pick up 4 fouls, but was not in foul trouble at any time (her 4th foul called pretty late in the 4th quarter). She had some very huge blocks and some big rebounds as well (8 blocks, 12 rebounds). Trisha made 5 freethrows with less than 2 minutes left in the game to secure the win.

On Saturday, the girls traveled to Wells Fargo arena to play Lincoln. This was actually a pretty slow game, and the girls did not come out particularly strong. Kionna ended up with 9 points, and Trisha with 7. Again, Cheyenne stepped up, scoring 13 to lead the little Cyclones.
