Ames High came out strong against SE Polk, building a 14-2 lead in the first quarter. The coach started making substitutions and the game changed a bit, but not enough to make a big difference. The girls won 64-37, and hit seven 3-pointers, including another for Kionna. She is now 2-3 for 3-point attempts on the season. Not bad, considering she does not typically shoot the 3. She had an okay game - missed some easy buckets, and passed when she could have shot. She was 7-11 field goal shooting, had 15 points and 16 rebounds, as well as a couple steals & assists, and 3 blocks (this is the *official* stats info - not from the newspaper). Ames is now 13-1, and faces Valley at Valley on Friday night. This should be a good game, as we beat Valley in a close game earlier this season in Ames.
