Update -- Sorry for the lapse in posts!

It has been a busy spring/summer, so I have not posted for awhile. Kionna has been working out, and practicing with the IBCA team getting ready for the summer tourneys. But Shaya actually has been to another tournament - I just neglected to post anything on it!

On May 16-17, 2009, we traveled to Normal, IL for the USJN Mid-America Challenge. Her team played up in the 9th grade division, and did very well, losing by 2 in double overtime to a much bigger Indiana team. It was their only loss of the weekend. Shaya played well, and it was a fun tournament. Her next tournament is this weekend (June 12-14) in Ankeny - the Midwest Girls Classic.

The girls both attended ISU Elite Camp this past weekend (2nd year). It is very convenient to have this great camp right in our back yard, and they both did very well. Kionna had a particularly impressive camp, and following the weekend, ISU and Coach Fennelly did make a scholarship offer to her. This was exciting for her and our family, as we are more than familiar with ISU's successful women's basketball program. She now has offers from Western Michigan, Drake, University of Northern Iowa, and Iowa State. This is a great place to be as she enters the summer recruiting period.

Both girls will be attending the MN Elite Camp next week, 6/15-6/17, and are very much looking forward to this opportunity. Kionna will also be celebrating her 17th birthday on the 17th (golden b-day!!) Following MN camp, both their teams will be participating in the MN Summer Jam in Bloomington, MN.

More updates to follow!
