It has been a busy few weeks. Shaya was in Cincinnati with the All Iowa Attack 13U team at the USJN Premier Invitational - Midwest from July 5-8. Her team played up in the 14U division. They did very well, winning their pool (5-0) and then losing by 5 in the semi-final round to the WI-WBA Prestige Teal team. They ended up third overall.
Jadda (point guard) and Shaya both made the All-Star Team for their pool in the Cincinnati tourney.
The AIA teams then traveled to Lexington, KY for the Run for the Roses tourney. The AIA 13U was playing in their age division, but it was not as competitive as would be beneficial to the girls, so coach worked things out so they could play up in the 15U division. They did well, losing in the championship game to a good team.
Shaya was then scheduled to go to Chicago to just watch her sister's tourney. But due to a couple absences on the 15U Attack team for this tourney, was able to dress with this team. She saw some playing time, worked hard, and had a really great time. It was a super experience for her.
This weekend she will be at high school team camp in Iowa City, and then AHS girls basketball camp next Mon-Tues. Next week on Wed, she travels to Kansas City for the Battle on the Plains.
