On Friday, Jan 9, Ames played Marshalltown. They are not a ranked team, and have had some struggles, but in the past - this sometimes means the girls don't go in with the same level of determination to win the game. Thankfully, this was not the case. Ames got off to a great start and while the score was 66-42, we actually had a 30 point lead in the 4th quarter. Coach Sullivan gave the bench an opportunity to get in some good minutes in the 4th - and while they struggled at first, they ended up doing some good things.
Kionna's game was FUN to watch. She had 20 points and 10 rebounds - maybe 2 blocks. Additionally, she hit two jumpshots and took and made her first 3-pointer in a game. She was 9-11 shooting, so it was a great night for her.
Right now, the Lil' Cyclones are 9-0, and get ready --- no time to rest, because they play Ankeny at home TONIGHT!
